Our first Appendix Reference focuses on Islam in Guyana. This reference is meant to educate those who may not know about the impact of Islam on Guyana / The Caribbean. This topic was chosen because the founders of The Ally Foundation are Guyanese Muslims, a subject that many are unfamiliar with.
In honor of Black History Month, this reference sheds light on how Islam began to spread in Guyana---which was the result of Mandingo and Fulani Muslims being taken to the country during slavery.
